AFTERNOON TEA & TOUR OF CLYTHA PARK

Join us for a late Summer afternoon at Clytha Park as guests of Sir Richard & Lady Hanbury-Tenison.

Over tea Sir Richard will tell us about the House, and you will be free afterwards to tour the house and ask Sir Richard any questions you may have.  Later you may tour the gardens and, if you are feeling energetic, there is a circular walk around the park.

This is a wonderful opportunity for you to bring friends, who may not be National Trust members, to view a National Trust property that is not open to the general public, and interest them in joining Gwent National Trust Association.Tickets for this event are £7.50 per person.  Tickets are strictly limited, so please apply early to avoid disappointment.

BANISH THE WINTER BLUES

With Christmas behind us and a while to go until the lighter nights and warmer weather what better opportunity than to  join us for a friendly and informal evening of good food, wine and entertainment at the  Usk Sessions House.

The Sessions House was designed by Thomas Wyatt and opened in 1877 by Samuel Richard Bosanquet, the  Chairman of the Monmouthshire Quarter Sessions.  Since its acquisition by Usk Town Coucil in 2000 it has been used as the Usk Town Hall.  In addition, it have also been used as the set for television and film productions as well as a live production of Gilbert & Sullivan’s Trial by Jury in the Court Room.

Members and their personal guests are invited to join us to raise their spirits at this Winter Fundraiser.    Tickets for the two course supper and entertainment are £20 per head.

GARDEN TOUR AT PENPERGWM LODGE

This very varied and special garden has featured on TV and has been written up in the Field, Country Life, The English Garden, Saga Magazine, and most recently in Country Homes in June 2006. From 2005 the garden has been added by the RHS to its list of recommended gardens to visit.

Mr Simon Boyle (GNTA President) and his wife Catriona  have kindly offered to show us around their garden  which should be at its best in mid-May.  This will be an early evening tour followed by light refreshments.
